Andrew Anderson has more than 15-years’ experience working clinically, with the Aboriginal Medical Service Redfern, Relationships Australia NSW, New Street Services and most recently with Mackillop Family Services as a Therapeutic Specialist in the Out of Home Care sector.

Andrew has had experience working with survivors of trauma and abuse in varying contexts. He has also had experience of working with men who have been abusive within relationships as well as working with young people who have sexually harmed another young person.  

Previously, Andrew co-facilitated the Strong Aboriginal Men (SAM) Program within Aboriginal communities across NSW. He also provides cultural supervision and training to teams within government agencies as well as non-government agencies.

Some programs Andrew is coordinating at the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence are parts of the ECAV Qualification Pathway within the Aboriginal Portfolio. These courses are the Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal Specialist Trauma Counselling and the Graduate Certificate of Human and Community Services.
