Lucy Lu is director of statistics and analysis at the Centre for Education Statistics and Analysis with the NSW Department of Education. In this role, which she has held since 2025, she collects data from schools; conducts analysis and processes data requests; calculates the family occupation and education index (FOEI) and value-added for each school in NSW; and completes NAPLAN analysis and reports to the Premier.

Lucy contributes to Sydney School of Education and Social Work's Centre for Educational Measurement and Assessment as a co-supervisor of Higher Degree Research students and by lecturing in the postgraduate unit of study "Data Literacy for School Teachers, which is offered under various  Master of Education designations.
