Mahaylia Cao began working in International Educational in 1997 at Study Group International – a global leading private provider of education through international study centres. She held various professional positions in her nine-years' employment there.
In 2007 she started working at The University of Sydney International Admissions Office where she held positions such as International Admissions Officer, International Admissions Coordinator and Assistant Student Ambassador and Outreach Coordinator. She successfully led an admissions team in a high-volume, high-pressured processing environment. Expertise in assessment of international applications for applicable faculties in accordance with the faculties and university guidelines, ESOS regulations and DIAC compliance. Her portfolio included the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Business School, School of Education and Social Work, Sydney Law School, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, CET, and University of Sydney Foundation Program.
Mahaylia also worked at Macquarie University in 2014 to establish and centralise their postgraduate coursework applications in their Direct Admissions Team. Setting up precedents and procedures and coordinating the assessment of PG Coursework, TAFE Pathways, Mature Age, Non-Award and Warawara applications. The last few years she’s taken some time off to travel the world with her family and explored more than 20 countries before deciding to return to The University of Sydney in July 2021 as Executive Officer for the Sydney School of Education and Social Work, where she provides executive administration support to the school manager and Head of School, as well as project coordination, the management of academic workloads and casual contracts.
