Jinqi Xu is a lecturer at The University of Sydney in Interdisciplinary Education, within the Education, Enterprise and Engagement Unit in the Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education).
As an academic, Jinqi’s role includes collaborating with the industry, community and government organisations, designing and delivering industry and community projects for students from different disciplines across all faculties of the University. She leads the interdisciplinary senior student teams to work on authentic problems from the industry partners to explore innovative solutions for the challenges the business partners face.
Her major research interests span Chinese international students in higher education; diversity in education; interdisciplinary education; and Confucius education. She develops these interests through a focus on practice theory and practice-based studies using collaborative methodologies, such as ethnography, participatory action research and grounded theory.
