Shauna is the Secondary Placement Officer in the Professional Experience team liaising and working with secondary schools to place students for the practical component of their degrees. Before coming to USYD Shauna was a Placement Officer at Australian Catholic University (ACU) placing Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Community Engagement students for their Supervised Teaching Practice placements in NSW and ACT. She has also worked as a Tertiary Supervisor at Macquarie University for Early Childhood and Primary placements, visiting and assessing students doing their placements at various schools, early childhood centres and preschools.

Shauna is a qualified and experienced Primary and Early Childhood Teacher who taught for 14 years before working as an Early Childhood Education lecturer and trainer/assessor for students undertaking the Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood at TAFE and various Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) after completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. After working as a trainer/assessor and work placement officer at Australian Learning Group (ALG) she was  promoted to Manager of Work Placement, managing and overseeing a small team of placement officers in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in early childhood, aged care, community services and mental health.

Outside of work, Shauna is also a very busy mother and stepmother of three children, sharing a home with her husband, children, cat and pet chickens. If there is any spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, the beach, theatre and movies.
